Um... 12:32 start

It's late and I have class tomorrow morning but I felt like sharing some poems I wrote a while back... I read them again today and thought I might be cool to share them with others. They don't really have titles, and there's two of them, enjoy.

As I lay here waiting
Pained and aching
The weight of the words I refused to speak crushing me preventing me from awakening from this nightmare here I rest I rinse I repeat
There is no greater feet than that of the man at the peak
He crossed the creek and what takes me a year took him a week
Yes I am weak yes a tad meek
But I refuse to flea
And though many plea
I will not preserve for them the glee
The mirth of failure, the joy of defeat
Some find it simple the way the world works
So exploit it, retort what you believe makes it proper and hold your ground
For the value of a man is not determined by the sharpness of his blade but the reason he's sharpens it
For the brick laid for his fellow man bears the weight of his hopes his dreams the passionate fire that at that moment was lit.

I guess these late nights are good for something
Tossing back and forth imagining  the other half of my bed isn't as empty as it seems
These days keep getting longer
And They say time heals all
but who helps time when he gets down
Who saves Father Time from his chronic depression
His repeated repression
And the painful digestion of everything he stomaches
I want to dive In but am scared to swim
I want to eat my cake not alone but next to you
Yeah you, are like the dew in the morning, the brew at night or the stew that let's me know your true
The words on paper are larger than they appear and the feelings in my head now are clear
They spell a word I rarely see
A chain of lines that set a tone
Something that brings pause
Before the play the fast forward and the pause again
series of memories written as fast as I move my pen
Scribbles and shapes
Like the light through the drapes
Trying as they might they battle they fight to breakthrough to you

Thanks for reading and thanks for 500 views on the page, glad to know I'm not just screeming at walls all the time...
